John Hawkes & Dale Dickey with their Best Supporting Actor & Best Supporting Actress ISAs for Winter’s Bone, February 26th 2011
Well deserved! Dale should have been nominated for an Oscar as well.

Such a shame she wasn’t because she was the best supporting actress all year, in my opinion.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway have some amazing chemistry together, and some pretty decent performances too. I loved Hathaway… but the script was pretty7 weak. The tone of the film was uneven, and it didn’t quite hit as hard as I thought it could have.
There were a few really beautifully shot/acted scenes though, so it’s worth watching even though it’s nothing that special.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is probably one of the best animated films I have ever seen. Everything comes together perfectly to create one stunning piece of work.

I found The Social Network a little underwhelming…I suppose my expectations for the film were higher than it could have possibly matched, but I did expect more. I’m not saying it isn’t a great film at all, I just didn’t like it as much as I thought I would.
I thought Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield were great, the script was fantastic, and the direction was brilliant. The score was great too… but I just didn’t really connect to the work, I think it was because the film was so intent on being observant of the story that it kept the characters at an arm’s length, and it was difficult for me to care or connect with any of them.
